Chronic pain, injuries, and conditions that cause daily issues can interrupt your daily life and cause high levels of anxiety. While sometimes surgery is essential, our team of physicians at Pain Control Associates can work with you on alternatives to surgery as well. Our doctors have chosen to dedicate their careers to helping alleviate the pain that can truly affect their patients’ lives. Our three doctors are available to discuss options for treatment and encourage a real conversation as a plan is put into place. We work with a range of issues, such as neck pain, back pain, neuropathy, sciatica, auto injury, or headaches.
When we first begin working to treat your pain, we will discuss with you our holistic approach to work on getting at the pain from more than one technique. At your first appointment, besides filling out a form beforehand, our doctor will perform an initial evaluation to find out what previous injuries you have had or previously diagnosed conditions. These may lay the groundwork for our team to recommend further, additional or different treatments to help you live more pain-free days. As we discuss what you are facing, we welcome any questions, and we may recommend further tests to help us tailor your plan to your particular pain.
Chronic pain is unfortunately a big problem that we hear about from many patients. Chronic pain is just that – pain that is prolonged for days, weeks, months, or longer – and does not fully go away. These pain signals may continue in your body even way after the initial cause of the pain has gone or has healed. There is not a clear cause of why chronic pain continues, so our team works to come up with ways to manage the pain. Chronic pain examples are headaches, low back strain, or pain from nerve damage. While medication is a way to tackle pain, we also may recommend relaxation and meditation therapy, behavior modification, and more.
As every patient is different and all pain is felt differently, we work closely with our patients to help them find their best path to manage pain no matter what the source. Our practice is based on collaboration, as the first idea may not always be the best. We will collaborate with you on the best pain management techniques as we apply a multidisciplinary approach. What we determine has to fit you and your lifestyle to work. It is a very personalized approach that we will determine with your input. If you ever have questions or issues with your plan, please let us know, so we can adjust.
